I remember growing up my Mom told me she was going to the dentist to have her teeth whitened. This was right around when dentists first started offering this service and I thought it was just about the coolest thing ever. “Can I get my teeth whitened too?” I asked. “Your teeth are already white” she said. She was right – I was a teen and this was way before my coffee & wine drinking days. Well, I can’t say my teeth are naturally white anymore! They’re white but it takes effort!
I’ve experimented plenty with crest white strips and drug store products. Years ago I had professional teeth whitening at the dentist. I had a custom tray made, sat with a UV light in my mouth for hours, and was sent home with whitening gel for upkeep. It was expensive and took hours in a dental chair. That night I was in severe pain, it was so intense my husband offered to take me to the ER. I didn’t go, I got through it, but let’s just say I’m forever traumatized by professional teeth whitening pain. I’ve even experienced pain with Crest White strips as well, my teeth are just so sensitive, especially the bottom ones!
Over the years I’ve experimented with different whitening products and I’m always on the look out for new ones. Here below are the 4 products I currently use and I’m very happy with. I’ll explain exactly why each product works for me below.
I’m getting addicted to Marvis toothpaste, I’ve tried all the flavors but I’m most partial to the whitening toothpaste. I can actually see a difference after a few days of brushing my teeth and I love the minty flavor, it’s not harsh like other toothpastes. I also love the way the tube looks…I’m a sucker for packaging. Marvis toothpaste is available in travel or full size. It’s the only toothpaste I want to use now.
I like to keep this whitening pen in my purse and use it after I’ve had coffee, red wine, or if it just happens that my smile looks a little dull. It’s also great to use in between stronger whitening treatments. To apply just smile, swipe the gel on your teeth, and wait 30 seconds to close your mouth – sometimes I wait a bit longer like a full minute. After applying the gel avoid eating or drinking for at least 15 minutes. I apply it sparingly or else it gets a bit too foamy. The flavor is a nice mild mint, no gross tastes to worry about. It’s also great for travel when my teeth need a boost.
If your obsessed with keeping your teeth perfectly white then make sure your mouth rinse is working for you. Every little bit adds up when it comes to fighting teeth stains. Not only does this mouth rinse have a nice minty flavor that isn’t overly harsh, it’s also clear which means no ugly blue liquid leaking from the bottle.
The price may seem a little high but not when you compare GLO Brilliant to professional teeth whitening, and professional results is what you’ll get. One cycle is 8 minutes that you repeat 4 times for a total of 32 minutes. Simply swipe the gel on your teeth, place the LED tray in your mouth, and hit the button. It’s easy, very effective, and there is absolutely ZERO tooth sensitivity! I’m using mine right now – haha…you don’t need a photo of that! It’s available in white, pink, or black. I’ve linked the exact kit I bought but another cool feature is you can buy another mouthpiece separately so you can share without buying an entire new device. Refills are sold separately for touch ups.
These products keep me with perfectly white teeth and hide my coffee, tea, & red wine addiction! What can I say, I want it all! I want red wine, coffee, and also bright white teeth! I can also say with confidence that I’ve experienced no sensitivity or pain issues at all. Yay! Try these products and let me know what you think.
