Hey friends…last week I had a blast going to an event with Alice’s Table and I wanted to share my adventure with you! Now, you probably know from checking out my home photos that I’m a flower junkie, but can you keep a secret? Ok, I’ll tell you…I really don’t know what I’m doing. Honestly I just buy basic flowers, cut them, and stick them in a vase of water. Yes, that works, but there is so much more to it than that! So when I had an opportunity to take an actual flower arranging class I jumped at the chance!
For those who aren’t familiar with Alice’s Table they were featured on Shark Tank. They specialize in bringing women together to learn floral arranging skills in a fun environment while sipping wine or cocktails. It’s a blast…I mean what woman wouldn’t want that right?
I met up with Laurie our Event Exec and once the rest of the ladies arrived we got flower busy! We started with our flower recipe and then began to learn the details. Below you see the beautiful flower buffet, it’s so exciting to see buckets of beautiful flowers just waiting for you! I’m like a kid in a candy shop!
Each of us had our own flower stations, complete with all necessary tools and supplies and wine! Events can be held at a variety of places, but ours was at Total Wines, so we got to sip some wines in between learning about flowers.
Laurie took us on a step by step journey, explaining the fundamental steps that are necessary to create a beautiful arrangement. We started with the greenery, and then hello roses and hydrangeas! It’s all coming together.
Laurie stressed the importance of keeping the flowers watered through the whole process. I think its also important for the arranger to stay hydrated, as you can see below.
Now for my favorite part, bringing home the flowers! Wow, I just can’t tell you what the power of fresh flowers does to your home. They bring color, happiness, and life!
So, I have to say that this event was so much fun, even if you think you are an expert at floral arrangements you should attend an event near you. You never know what you might learn that you didn’t know before. These events are great for girls night out, birthday parties, fundraisers, book clubs, baby and bridal showers, customer appreciation, etc. Our Exec, Laurie, was so fun, knowledgeable, and friendly, and I’m sure yours will be too. Here is all the contact info you will need to find an event near you or set up your own private event:
And if you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, our Exec, Laurie, would love to set something up with you. She can be found on Instagram @alicestable.socialandcreative or you can email her here. Happy arranging my friends… can you ever have too many flowers? I think not.
