NOT ANOTHER BLACK COAT

Well, happy Saturday!  I’ve been sitting on these photos for a while and thought it was about time I got them up on the blog.  Let’s talk about coats that I’ve seen for fall and winter…. and how about not just another black one!  Hopefully you already have a black staple coat tucked away in your closet, you can never go wrong with that.  But with all the fun bright colors, patterns, textures, and embellishments I’ve seen lately, let’s have some fun this season!

Ask my mom, I don’t just have a purse obsession but a coat obsession as well.  I just can’t turn down an adorable coat, plus I hate being cold – so it’s win win really.  Leopard coats are everywhere this season and I know so many women must be loving that!  I have a leopard trench coat that’s about 12 years old that I’m so glad I’ve held on too, it’s too big for me now.  Hey… back then I ate pasta every night, it’s such a classic though, so I’ll be taking it in for alternations next week for sure.

This girly pink coat definitely caught my eye, love the ruffle detail, and the wrap style just seemed comforting, almost like a bathrobe.  Plus it’s a lighter weight coat, great for our quirky Texas winters.

I took these photos during our off and on rain spell we’ve had, so I have my Aquatalia boots on which are made for this weather.  They’re probably 2 or 3 years old and I was really excited to see that they’re still being sold!  The great thing about these suede boots is they are completely waterproof, I’ve worn them hard for years and they are holding up great, and they’re surprisingly comfortable too.  The Duchess Kate wears Aquatalia boots quite a lot and for good reasons… comfort, style, and durability.

So what do you say?  How about not just another black coat this season, let’s add a little pizazz to these dreary cold days coming up.  I recently showed you a glimpse of some picks from the Nordstrom rewards party on my Instagram story, and hopefully I can get some of those items photographed and up soon.  Really excited about some of the things I bought, some are still being altered though.  Nordy fans have you looked through the new rewards program?  If so what do you think?  I have mixed feelings… I’ve heard it’s supposed to be better, but all I’ve really noticed is they’ve changed the level names, and it looks like they changed triple point bonus days to double.  What??  Thoughts??
